Elle Decor Appartamento Spagnolo
Elle decor | Exhibition | 2025

Organized by Elle Decor Italia, Interiors from Spain, and ICEX, the Spanish Apartment returns to the spotlight at Fuorisalone during Milan Design Week 2025, transforming Palazzo Castiglioni into a showcase of Spanish design excellence. This project highlights the dialogue between the Art Nouveau architectural heritage and the innovations of contemporary design.

The exhibition presents the best of Spanish creativity through a refined intervention that both honors the building’s historical legacy and enhances every room. Palazzo Castiglioni, a masterpiece designed by Giuseppe Sommaruga in 1902, has preserved its grandeur: the frescoed ceilings, rich wall coverings, and majestic wrought-iron chandeliers remain visible in all their splendor. The installation focuses instead on the horizontal surfaces, using platforms, carpeting, and ceramic coverings to define the spaces

The color choices enhance the project’s character: lavender and yellow for the veranda—shades in perfect harmony with the Art Nouveau aesthetic; magenta and burgundy for the kitchen and bedroom, in tune with the period wallpapers; and gold, pink, and café au lait for the central hall, dominated by a grand fireplace and a ceiling adorned with peacock bas-reliefs.
