Dee Dee Club Chair
With Break, Dee Dee and Sira, Very Wood introduces, for the first time in its collection, a family of upholstered seating and lounge pieces, marking a turning point in the brand’s evolution and expanding its offering to new design typologies. This step broadens the brand’s scope without compromising its coherence, translating its identity into a new dimension that is softer, more embracing and tactile.
Developed through research into upholstery as a form of sculptural construction, the three designs combine primary geometries and soft surfaces to create seating pieces with a strong and instantly recognizable character.
Dee Dee is defined by two curved side panels – almost quarter-circle in shape – that embrace the seat and establish its formal identity, echoing the radical design experiments of the 1980s through their distinctive graphic expression.
Sira Club Chair
Sira is conceived through the combination of five distinct elements – the seat, the base, and the semi-shell components of the backrest – each remaining clearly legible in its individual identity. A vertical void runs through the body of the chair, lightening its visual presence, while its enveloping profile evokes the sculptural abstraction of Costantino Nivola’s works.
Break takes shape around a solid, fully upholstered base that enhances its sense of stability and presence. At the back, a graphic incision interrupts the surface, introducing a detail inspired by the world of athletic footwear, designed to visually energize the object's profile.
